10 Reasons to Become a Georgia Swimming Official:
¨
Support the team with your time as a
volunteer. ¨
Be
on deck with your kids at swim meets.
There’s no better view of the pool. ¨
Learn
more about the sport of swimming (don’t you wish you knew why your child
dq’d? What does
non-continuous turning action mean anyway?) ¨
Because
you’re a valued volunteer, be well-taken care of with: ¨
Free
heat sheets (you’ll actually know the heat and lane assignments) ¨
Free
food ¨
Free
admission ¨
Since
¨
Nice
people who will mentor you in the sport (Officials really are nice once
you get to know them!) ¨
You
can make a difference! Don’t
sit in the stands and get a sore back, stand up and be involved with the
swimmers on deck ;-) Questions? Contact Georgia Swimming Officials Training Chairperson, Rob Schreer (h2oref@bellsouth.net). Officials clinics are offered seasonally. Don’t miss your chance this season become certified. Check it out at http://gaswim.org/officials.htm

ARE
YOU TIRED OF: ü
spending
the weekend in that hot/humid place? ü
the
smell of chlorine? ü
crowds
blocking your view? ü
sitting
on those hard bleachers all day? ü
hunting
for a good book to read? ü
deciding
what to wear? WELL….. We
can’t help you with the first two
but look out because we can make the last four become history. We
have the book that will lead you from your backside to the pool side after
just one short formal training session. The
book is USA Swimming Rules and Regulations and it comes in two
convenient sizes. Join
Georgia Swimming Officials, participate in our “Home School” program,
attend a single formal training session, pass an “open book” exam,
complete a short apprentice program (on-the-job training) and become a
certified swim official. Put on the blue shorts, skirt, or pants with a
white polo shirt and join us on deck. Officiating
swim meets counts toward your families “Volunteer” contribution.
No
prior experience necessary, will train qualified individuals for entry
